Barbie & Ross's Wedding at Lains Barn, Wantage, Oxfordshire
It was an incredible pleasure photographing Barbie and Ross's wedding ceremony.
The couple chose Lains Barn, Wantage, Oxfordshire as a venue. A fantastic location to celebrate their wedding. I was thrilled at the opportunity of photographing at Lains Barn again. It's an award-winning restored rural barn dating back to 1750, a stunning venue and a wedding photographers dream.
Barbie began her day at Milton Hill House, another beautiful Oxfordshire location. The bridal prep allows me to get to know the bridal party a bit more. During this time, there are lots of opportunities for storytelling as Barbie was having her hair and makeup finished, courtesy of Charlie Jennings and Angela McKnight
While Ross was hidden away inside Lains Barn, Barbie had finished getting ready and was en route to the venue in a magnificent vintage car, the black and ivory, 1930’s Bramwith Limousine from Christopher’s Wedding Cars.
Barbie’s exquisite and stunning wedding dress came from Butterfly Bridal Boutique in Bicester.
It was clearly a tremendous honour for friends and family to witness Barbie and Ross's big day at Lains Barn. I couldn't ask for a better job than being an Oxfordshire wedding photographer, and ceremonies like this remind me why I do what I do.
The reception was a success, and everybody was grinning from ear to ear. It was a lovely atmosphere, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Throughout the reception, I was on the lookout to catch fantastic candid moments.
The more summer weddings I photograph, the more I enjoy them. There was a lot of clouds overhead during Barbie and Ross's wedding day. These acted as a giant softbox, diffusing the light, which is a godsend for a wedding photographer.
As all guest sat down to listen to speeches. I again was looking for those natural moments. Guests reacting as the speeches are delivered always make for excellent storytelling images.
The evening celebrations began with the newlyweds showing off their best dance moves. The DJ definitely hitting the right note with the wedding guests, as the dance floor quickly became crowded.
I knew it was going to be a fantastic wedding from the moment I first met Barbie and Ross and they booked me to be their wedding photographer. I hope they have a happy life together, and their wedding day was everything they hoped it to be.
I hope these images from Barbie and Ross’s wedding have inspired you as you plan your own special day. There are more examples of my work in the gallery and previous blog posts.
